Per tutti era Charb ma il suo nome completo era Stephane Charbonnier. Aveva 47 anni ed era dal 1992 a Charlie Hebdo, di cui aveva assunto la direzione nel 2009. Charb si era sempre detto pronto a morire in piedi piuttosto che rinunciare alla libertà di espressione di cui Charlie Hebdo si è sempre
